Portfolium is an online ePortfolio space where students can curate a digital showcase of their curricular and other achievements, projects, and competencies. Portfolium allows students to connect with businesses and potential employers, enhancing their employability, and with their university peers and fellow students and graduates globally, maximizing their opportunities for success.
For the first time, students can directly correlate their academic work to real work requirements, connecting their learning (both inside and outside of the classroom) with opportunities.
Portfolium’s online portfolio creation and social-networking tools are 100% free for life for all Macquarie University staff and students.
Portfolium introductory video:
Portfolium is integral to the deployment of the Bachelor of Arts (BA) Transferrable Skills Framework (TSF) across the Faculty of Arts (Arts). The TSF is designed to make explicit connections between coursework and employability skills. More information can be found at the BA Hub iLearn site .
Portfolium is currently used in the BA capstone unit. Future implementation aims to:
- activate the use of Portfolium across all Arts courses
- integrate the TSF into all BA course components
- fast-track adoption of the tool in all Arts unit offerings
The Portfolium implementation project aligns with key Faculty strategic initiatives arising from the Macquarie University Operating Plan 2020-2024 workstreams, in particular:
- Students First: engagement; satisfaction; success; employability.
- Coursework Suite and Delivery: enhancement and improvement.
- Digital Transformation: digitally enabled education.
