The Macquarie Curriculum Architecture project (CA2020) is a University-wide endeavour to improve the coherence, structure, accessibility and constructive alignment of curriculum that is challenging, meaningful and useful. An additional goal of the Curriculum Architecture project is to improve the clarity of students’ academic pathways as they progress through their courses. These changes will promote all Macquarie students, including those at the Faculty of Arts, to graduate with more than just disciplinary knowledge, but also sought after transdisciplinary skills that will prepare them for the challenges of living and working in an increasingly complex and interconnected world. The project is underpinned by the University’s Learning and Teaching Strategic Framework: 2015 – 2020 and is designed to align with the University’s Indigenous Strategy (2016-2025), to ensure that the University delivers an indigenous-connected curriculum. At the Faculty of Arts, Curriculum Architecture initiatives are overseen by the Associate Dean of Quality and Standards, Associate Professor Panos Vlachopoulos, and are supported by the Learning and Teaching Team.
