Induction and Training
The University and the Faculty of Arts offer several options for training and support for casual academics, tutors and new convenors.
Guides for Tutors
As a new sessional academic tutor at the Faculty of Arts, you will have to complete the 2 hour Arts Teaching Fundamentals induction. You are supposed to do the one hour course and attend a one hour face-to-face induction at the beginning of the semester. You will then be able to claim these two hours. If you don't have access to the iLearn course, please contact the Arts L&T team
There are several self-paced courses and workshops on Workday you will have to complete as well.
Beginning to Teach is a 12-hour program designed to develop the teaching capability of those with limited or no experience of teaching.

Guides for Convenors
The iLearn unit Arts Teaching Fundamentals also provides online guidance and information fornew and experienced Unit Convenors.
You will find essential learning and teaching and administration resources that support the role of the Unit Convenor in the Faculty of Arts.
